I think Sophia has started to repeat words. The main two she says are "doggie" and "kitty." I may be being one of those moms who is convinced her child is saying something and she really isn't, but I'll let you decide.
I think you are right. That is definitely a "dog-gie," at least the middle pre-cough bit. Fun!
I definitely hear "doggie" and then "do gie gie" :-) She's definitely practicing the word. Such a fun stage. :-)
