My Girls

Reading with Grandma Barbie
We spent Christmas in Tucson and had a great time even though it was a short visit. Sophia got to play with her cousins, Jimmy and Hannah, and had a blast. I, unfortunately, did not get any pictures of them. Reading, eating, napping, visits from close friends, and running around took up most of our days and that was just fine with all of us!

Birthday Cupcakes for Jesus

Sophia thought that we should make Jesus some cupcakes for his birthday. Her thoughts were that he would love to have pink cupcakes with pink frosting. I guess she and Jesus have very similar tastes.

Christmas with Papa and TeeTee

We had Christmas with Papa and Tee Tee before we left for Tucson. Sophia got a lot of really fun stuff. Her favorite was a giant princess castle in which she spends endless hours playing make believe with her figurines. Thank you Papa and Tee Tee!

Dilemma

Sophia: Mom, if you asked if I wanted to go to Costco or to the park it would be a dilemma.

Me: Why is that? (I asked in order to see if she actually knew the meaning of dilemma)

Sophia: Because I like both places.

I guess she, indeed, does know the meaning of "dilemma."

Giant Mickey

Mike won a GIANT Mickey Mouse at a white elephant party and this was the perfect household for it to come to. Sophia pretends it is her "prince." It looks pretty hilarious when she tries to dance with something so big. She also likes to sit in his lap. Thanks for the gift, Dave!

Waves from Livvy

Livvy loves to wave at anyone who will look at her and it is SO cute.

Cinderella

She folded these all by herself. I was pretty impressed.

My sweet floor cleaner who sings, "Swing, swing nightingale" in her "rags."

Christmas Lights

We got to go and see Christmas lights with our friends, The Shwartings. Sophia loved the lights, but she especially liked being with our friends.

Warm and Cold

Me: Sophia you need to be thankful for the things that you have and not complain about what you don't have. Some kids don't even have a warm bed to sleep in.

Sophia: They have cold beds?

Modesty

Sophia has been really into modesty lately. When we are at home she come and pulls the back of my pants up and says, "Mom, if someone were here that would not be modest." I always tell her that certain things are OK to wear when it's just us at home, but if people were over or if we were going somewhere they would not be appropriate.

We were in the grocery store yesterday and she saw the front of a magazine. There was a girl on the front with a low cut shirt and her belly showing. She said, "That girl isn't being modest." She paused for about 15 seconds and then said, "Is she going somewhere or is she just going to be at home." Good question.

My Super Cute Christmas Tree Picker

Visitors

Grandpa Tom and Grandma Barbie came for a visit over Thanksgiving. We had a great time relaxing, eating and enjoying the kids together.

Park Skills

Sophia can do so many things at the park now. I love watching her grow and be so proud of the things she is able to do. We are so proud of her, too.

Oh My

There was a cricket in our house and I yelled to Mike, "Kill it!" Sophia joined in and yelled, "Crucify him!"
We've been reading the story of Jesus' crucifixion a lot.

Livvy 8 Months

Snuggles for Daddy

First time touching a Christmas tree
Livvy turned 8 months on the first. She is so fun. Her favorite people to see are Sophia and Daddy. When she sees Mike or his pictures she waves and says, "Ha Da." This is her way of saying, "Hi Dada." It is so sweet. She now has 2 bottom teeth.
She is very close to crawling and is determined when she wants something. She hates getting dressed and having her face wiped. Livvy can now do "So big", wave, clap her hands and give high-fives. She loves taking baths with her sister.
Sleeping has been really good. She takes 2 naps each day that last anywhere from 1-2 hours each. She is liking food more and still nursing 4x a day and once at night. Bedtime is between 6:45-7:45 and she usually sleeps a good 12 hours. So nice for mommy.
