What We've Been Up To

Summer has come and even though I don't get time off for many years to come, I have been really enjoying my time with Sophia. Here are some things we've been up to.



Keeping hats on that don't have ties around the chin. This is a BIG deal around here. I think she has finally realized she looks sort of stylish when she wears them.

Trying on a lot of shoes. The ones she is wearing here are too big, but she had to wear them.

Visiting Daddy at work while wearing pretty dresses.

Going to the lakes near our home, feeding the ducks, walking and playing on the playground

14 Months

Sophia just keeps getting cooler and cooler.

Here are some things we are loving about her:

* Her emphatic "Yes" when answering questions

* Telling us when she wants to go nigh-night

* Dancing

* Saying new words all of the time

* Crying when I try and take her pretty shoes off

* Asking for necklaces to wear

* Seeing dogs with leashes and saying, "Necklace"

* The way she says, "Help, please" and "Big piece"

* Wanting to scratch my back periodically throughout the day

* High fiving herself

* Doing cheesy smile on command

* Pretending to be a kitty by crawling around and meowing

* Her love for swimming

* Whenever she is asked if she likes or loves something, so gives herself a big hug

* The fact that she can point out and say, "Narwhal" (I didn't know what a narwhal was until I started reading her little cardboard books)

Dancing

Sophia has started "dancing." It usually involves moving her arms up and down stiffly and bouncing. Kids usually pick up things from their parents, so I really hope this dancing style didn't come from me. Maybe Daddy taught it to her when I was away. The special appearance in the video is our friend, Soren. He, as you will see, is a great dancer.

Milk Obsession

Sophia is totally obsessed with her milk. If she sees it, she starts yelling and takes it straight to her little chair and does not stop sucking until it is all done. I look forward daily to providing her with such a simple pleasure.
