"Funny"

Sophia has started to notice when things are funny. Sometimes things that aren't supposed to be funny are funny to her. For example, she thought a really scary werewolf costume on Halloween was funny. Me, not so much.

Last night it was freezing and we decided to go for a family walk. I had on sweatpants, two sweatshirts, a long black nice jacket, a hat and tennis shoes. Sophia looked at me, laughed and said, "Funny, Mama." If a kid says so, it must be true. I apparently need to keep an eye on my clothing choices.

Today, in the car, I hear Sophia say, "Look, Mama. Funny." I look back and see that she has her baby dolls fingers up her own nose. I told her that was silly, but that she shouldn't put her baby's fingers up her nose. Kids.

I am so glad to have these pictures because when we had our ultrasound, the sonographer didn't give them to us. Since Mike works for Kaiser he was able to contact some people he knows in the department and get these great shots. Here she is!

19 Months

Christmas pajamas and high heals are the new "in" thing

New things:


She calls herself "Ophia"


When I ask if she is being gentle she says, "Kindness, faithfulness, goodness and self-control."


If I ask her a question and she doesn't know right away she clicks her tongue and then says, "Ummm."


When she says bye to me or anyone else she yells, "Bye, bye, miss you."



Sings the "ABC's"



Tells people, "Good morning" when we pass them



Her favorite prayer, "Jesus, food, help us, AMEN!"



If she almost falls or if I almost drop something she says, "Whoa, close one!"



Will randomly yell out, "Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so."



If I ask her what her job is she says, "Obey Mama and Dada!"



Makes her baby do things and then says, "No, no baby!"



Spells her name by saying, "S-O-P-H-I-P"...it's close



Sits in the bathroom and reads a book while I take a shower



Jumps while lifting both feet


If I do something funny she says, "That's funny."

Pumpkin Patch

Sophia went to a pumpkin patch for the first time and loved it. She and Mike went in the hay maze, she pet all the animals and tried to pick them up and collected a lot of pumpkins. It was a beautiful, cool, crisp day so it made it really feel like fall.

Sophia said, "Oh, so heavy" as she tried to pick up this calf.

Jesus Loves Me

Halloween

We spent Halloween with our friends down the street and Sophia had a great time. She started out as a ballerina and then, when it got cold, turned into Minnie Mouse. She didn't care about the candy, but loved walking around with all her little friends.
